  • Product code: DHF 8000
  • The DHF 8000 series (comprising the DHF 8000 and DHF 8000ST) is a lineup of simultaneous 5-axis horizontal machining centers equipped with an A-axis nodding head spindle, specifically engineered by DN Solutions to handle heavy-duty cutting on large and highly complex parts in the aerospace and automotive industries

1. Highlighted Technical Features
- A-axis Nodding Head Spindle : Equipped with a nodding spindle tilt angle from −100 to +60 degrees. This design allows cutting tools to approach workpieces from all angles with full access to five sides in a single setup, significantly reducing part setups, minimizing machine downtime, and maximizing active chip-making time.
- Spacious Axis Travels & Feedrates: Features extensive linear travels of 1450 mm (X-axis) / 1200 mm (Y-axis) / 1500 mm (Z-axis). The rapid traverse rates are 40 m/min for the X and Y axes, and 50 m/min for the Z-axis.
- Maximum Workpiece Capacity: Engineered to handle large workpieces weighing up to 2000 kg.
The maximum workpiece envelope is:
DHF 8000: Ø1400 x H1400 mm.
DHF 8000ST: Ø1600 x H1400 mm.

- Table & Pallet Configurations :
DHF 8000: Equipped as standard with an Automatic Twin Pallet Changer (APC) utilizing 800 x 800 mm square pallets with a pallet change time of 16 seconds.
DHF 8000ST (Mill-Turn version): Uses a single Ø1000 mm rotary table. It integrates a turning function where the B-axis rotary speed reaches up to 500 r/min.
- Versatile Spindle Options :
+ Standard 6000 r/min Gear-Driven Spindle: Utilizes a high-rigidity two-step gear train structure delivering 35 kW of power and a massive torque of 960.4 N·m (with FANUC NC), offering powerful cutting performance for hard materials.
+ High-Speed 15000 r/min Built-In Spindle (HSK-A100 only): Delivers 86 kW / 223 N·m with SIEMENS control or 51 kW / 147 N·m with FANUC control.
+ Ultra-High-Speed 30000 r/min Built-In Spindle (HSK-A63 only): Designed specifically for high-efficiency, high-volume machining of Aluminum. Delivers 90 kW / 49.9 N·m (SIEMENS) or 90 kW / 53.4 N·m (FANUC).
- High Rigidity & Precision: Utilizes dual ballscrews on the Y and Z axes to increase structural stability, speed, and responsiveness. The machine incorporates linear scales on all three axes paired with ball screw shaft and spindle bearing cooling systems to minimize thermal displacement and maintain high precision during extended machining runs.
- Advanced Chip Disposal: Features a centrally-positioned chip disposal system combined with Programmable Shower Coolant (PSC) technology for efficient cleaning. The multi-step Through-Spindle Coolant (TSC) system is programmable to adjust pressure from 10 to 70 Bar based on specific cutting conditions.

2. Control System
The DHF 8000 series supports top-tier CNC controllers: FANUC 31i-B PLUS or SIEMENS 840D. It incorporates advanced software solutions to streamline operations:
EZ WORK Software Suite (Developed by DN Solutions): An intuitive, menu-driven package designed to reduce setup times, simplify routine tasks, and eliminate operator errors. Key functions include:
Adaptive Feed Control: Automatically adjusts feedrate to maintain a constant spindle load during cutting.
Pattern Cycle: Automatically generates part programs for common shapes.
Spindle Warm Up: Automatically warms up the spindle to extend its operational life after a period of inactivity.
Operation Rate: Tracks machine history and daily operational efficiency based on workload.
PMC Soft Panel Switch: Conveniently manages manual sequential operations on the screen for APC and ATC cycles.
APC Setting Screen: Enables scheduling and automation of subsequent pallets by linking programs to specific pallets.
Intelligent Kinematic Compensation (IKC / DCP-i): Recommended for high-precision 5-axis machining. This function (DCP-i for FANUC and CYCLE 996 for SIEMENS) maintains the tool tip at a constant position relative to the workpiece regardless of the rotational axes' movements, correcting kinematic errors.
3.Automation functions are integrated into the DHF 8000
The DHF 8000 series integrates and supports the expansion of various automation functions and systems to maximize unattended machining time and enhance productivity. The typical automation features include:
-  Pallet Automation
+ Automatic Twin Pallet Changer: This is a standard feature on this machine series, allowing for quick switching between 2 pallets with a pallet change time of only 16 seconds. This enables the operator to set up the workpiece at one station while the machine is still operating at the other station.
+ Linear Pallet System (LPS): For large-scale automation needs, the DHF 8000 supports the optional LPS 8000 system. This is a powerful connectivity solution that allows storage of 8 to 72 pallets, integrates 1 to 7 machining centers, and 1 to 4 setup stations, all fully controlled automatically by PC software.
DN Round Storage 8000 : A more compact optional automation storage with a capacity of 7 or 9 pallets, helping to maximize floor space savings. This system uses a highly reliable servo-driven mechanism and is easy to set up and retrofit in the field.
- Large Capacity Automatic Tool Changer (ATC)
The machine uses a servo-type tool magazine that helps improve productivity and reliability.
The system offers multiple tool magazine configurations, from the standard 60 tools up to chain-type or matrix-type magazines with the capacity to automatically manage from 90, 120 up to a maximum of 376 tools (depending on the speed and spindle type). The ATC station mechanisms also undergo survival tests with millions of tool changes to ensure durability in automated production systems.
-  Automation Control Support Software (EZ Work / iHMI)
+ APC Setting Screen: A simple automation interface that helps the operator set up the programs in advance for the upcoming pallets. Based on this, the machine will automatically move the pallet into position and proceed with continuous machining.
+ PMC Soft Panel Switch: A feature that allows for convenient monitoring and manual step-by-step continuous operation for APC and ATC change commands on the control screen, thereby minimizing operational errors.

4. Applications in Production
